3.10am: was ten minutes late to arrive in the irc channel
setting up an empty anjuta project, fiddling with settings to
find allegro, base code (blanks screen)
3.27am: blank screen runs
adding update logic, empty menu, empty game loop,
fiddled more with compiler settings
3.36am: empty menu, and empty game loop, work
start designing stickman figure in povray
4.23am basic design of stickman in povray
4.24am fall asleep
--
12.20pm: slept, but feel quite tired
going to work on povray figure
12.53pm: wrote converter tga->dat, works
13.08pm: stick figure place-holders can run around.
leaving for lunch;
--
13.43pm: back
messing around with pov;tried to make it output
orthographic iso-tile..
all sorts of problems..
15.03pm: pov-iso-tile sorta works
starting with design plan: Gnome Guard
(the idea probably comes from running in the Gnome desktop, and it
has to do something with the theme..)
15.11pm: uploading design document
making a 2nd tile with a different color, writing iso-map code,
work almost instantly (i coded this often enough by now)
16.03pm: going to upload screenshot

no game idea.. trying to make gnomes run to mouse
16.47pm: BUG: some gnomes get stuck for no apparent reason
17.10pm: GRRRRRR! I can't find it, damnit.. going to fire up gdb now..
gdb just shows weired stuff, putting tons of asserts..
17.33pm: The symptoms of the bug are gone, although I couldn't find it. Let's
hope it's gone..
17.40pm: BUG is back, a little different: gnomes just disappear and reappear
somewhere else :(
17.42pm: setting the number of gnomes back to the original amount makes an
assert reappear, which has nothing to do with it :( i'm lost..
18.20pm: this is so sad, it's just unbelievable, i assigned a direction
to a position.. the most simple typo ever, and it took almost 2 hours :(
18.23pm: Oh well, i cleaned out most of the asserts and printfs and restored
the code more or less to what it was before the bug hunting. this is so
depressing, now i don't even know what i want to code next..
..
coded some more in pov, coded some more in the map code, seems to work
quite well (but no time for optimizing performance..)
20.43pm: Sort of know what I want to do now. new screenshot.
21.05pm: hm, i'm not making much progress
--
22.20pm: this was really weired, there just was 3 power failures.
looks like the thunderstorms are gone now, and hopefully also no more
power failures.

0.35am: made some progress, there's an exit now for the gnomes, and
traps they have to avoid. and you can make ballisades.

posting screenshot 3..

wasted a lot of time trying to get sound recording working under linux,
and failed. i had planned to stay up until today evening.. but i nearly
fell asleep over the keyboard despite 2 litres of coke..

12.29pm: not much time left. i've got to get up early tomorrow, so i have
approximately 8 hours left now..

Made some levels..

20.00pm: I'm writing this in windows, testing the windows exe. Everything
seems to work, except the menu background image has all sorts of artefacts,
i'll draw a new one. I also recorded some sound in windows. After recording
the joy-cry of the gnomes when reaching the exit, my neighbours now must
finally think I've gone mad :)

There's not going to be another log entry, I'm now fixing that one background
pic, then packing everything up and submitting..
